A Real-Talk Letter to My Just-Starting-Out-in-Business Self

When we're starting out on a new entrepreneurial pursuit, I think the biggest reality check to arm ourselves with in the beginning is the realization that everything takes time. And lots of it. While, yes, it can be tempting to glamorize our situations and make ourselves believe that WE'RE DIFFERENT WE'RE THE EXCEPTIONS, the large majority of the time, we're going to be fighting the good fight juuuust like the rest of the hard working self-starters who came before us.

My Instagram Batching Secret to Save Time (and Frustration)

When it comes to outside tools and third-party applications, I can honestly say that I'm not a fan. I strongly dislike over-complicating things, and while a lot of these tools can be helpful and make my life easier as they claim to do, I personally see them as being a bit annoying and as just another password and username to keep track of. Anybody with me? Well, if you are - I assume you'll continue reading. Hopefully.

Less Busy-ness, More Business: 5 Steps to More Meaningful Productivity

I'll be the first to admit that seeming like we're busy all the time makes us feel like we're being more productive when we actually may not be doing much. I started to realize back when I was in university how common it was for people around me to brag (yes, brag) about how much they had to do and how stressed they were and how there just isn't enough time in the day, yada yada yada. But then when I really started to observe some of these same people, I realized they really weren't doing much of anything because they weren't being productive.

Minding Your Own Business: Don't Get Caught Up in Comparisons

One thing I really noticed during the trip and especially out at one restaurant in particular, was how the locals really just mind their own business. You walk into a place, people take a look at you, and then they go back to whatever it is they're doing. And with all of this, I really thought about how it applies to conducting business online, where it's SO easy to head over to our competitors' websites and poke around on what's going on in there. What new business opportunities they might have coming to them (and subsequently focusing on what's not coming to us), what they're talking about in their blog posts (and subsequently remembering that it's been a while since we were in the blogging groove, ourselves).

March Business Recap: B-School, Drunk HerStory, & Gifts from the Universe

I really feel like 2018 is flying by. Like, didn't we just ring in the new year and get back into our daily lives? I had a big France week in February with one of my best friends and already that feels like ages ago. So here we are in March. Love March. March is great. Spring's around the corner - even if it shows little glimpses of itself only to slam the door in our faces and come back in with cold fronts and tons of rain. But so is life - all for the good of the flowers and new life of spring, I suppose.

How to Get Over 'Analysis Paralysis' and Get to Work

Let's be real. The most difficult part of starting something can be just sitting down and STARTING IT. That, paired with the seemingly endless options and choices around every corner vying for our attention, can make it doubly difficult. That’s why I’m here blogging today about the dangers of succumbing to paralysis by analysis in favor of making decision after decision and then pivoting or altering your course along the way. Here are my main thoughts about getting over analysis paralysis and getting to work. You'll thank yourself for it later on!

Go When You're 'On,' Rest When You're Not.

As entrepreneurs, we need to really embrace the fact that we are HUMAN and that there comes a time when we're just not feelin’ so hot. In those moments, we need to calm ourselves down and realize that it’s not always necessary to force ourselves to be so ‘ON,’ when all we really crave is some serious downtime, rest, and TLC. This post is about helping you forgive yourself for takin’ a little break when you most need it, only to come back and totally hit your goals outta the park upon your return.

Dear Friend, Please Never Feel Guilty for Charging Your Full Price

As female entrepreneurs and business owners (especially those who are just starting out), it can be especially difficult to stand true to our prices or even to get them to a high-enough point that you feel you’re really charging what you’re worth!!There’s a lot of work to be done around one’s money-mindset since we spend our whole lives with certain money stories that we hold to be true for us.

Why It's Time to Start Showing Up as the Person You Truly Are

Deep down, we know who we are and we know what sets are beautiful hearts and souls on fire. Why do we settle for giving those around us the "societally-acceptable" versions of ourselves. The versions that say "yes, I'm a responsible person and have a 'normal' job despite the fact that I'm working my arse off every other waking hour of my life trying to build something I'm 10000% more passionate about!"
